Takashi Murakami at Versailles

I visited Paris last month, during my time there I made a trip to the Palace of Versailles to see the last day of the Takashi Murakami Exhibit. The Japanese artist had filled 15 rooms at the palace with his work. The sculptures themselves were pretty amazing and the setting was a great contrast to the quirky pop art. It's fair enough to say I really enjoyed this retrospective and found it very inspiring. Murakami's characters are cute, quirky, bright and a little bit naughty. Murakami I am now a big fan of your work!Murakami-Versailles

'spread your love' by Hamed Kohan

I cycled to work for the first time today, whoop whoop! It was great, felt so refreshed by time I got to work. 1000 times better than catching the tube in.

I stumble across this article this morning on the design boom website about these amazing tyres with hearts on designed by Hamed Kohan for the 'seoul cycle design' competition. I want them, I hope they manufacture these. My tyres are looking a bit crusty anyway.

'spread your love' by hamed kohan from Iran is one of the shortlisted design entries from more than 3000 participants in our recent designboom competition,'seoul cycle design 2010', organized in collaboration with seoul design foundation.

The tire design features heart-shaped knobs that create playful tracks on the streets.A series of corresponding bike racks are distributed throughout the city.

Raggy Dolls

Way Way back in April I received my dolls I had commissioned Cherry Hurren to make. I would have posted this sooner but I've been having a lot of problems with my blog. I have decided to go back to using blogger for now because they won't allow my to publish the blog directly to site, oh well maybe I'll think of a better solution soon.

Here are the pics of the beautiful dolls Cherry made for me, I have given them a home on my wicker Peacock chair. All the little details on them are great, the small zips and the sun glasses are so cute, the stripe doll's top was drawn by hand with fabric pens, Amazin! You can really tell Cherry put a lot of effort into them.
